Bruno Genesio praises Ayyoub Bouaddi’s maturity: “He has taken on another dimension”

Ayyoub Bouaddi has become indispensable at LOSC, continuing his irresistible rise. At just 18 years old, the young midfielder of Moroccan descent impresses Bruno Genesio, as well as several European heavyweights. What was supposed to be a simple step in his progression has turned into a true phenomenon of precocity.

The Lille coach does not hold back in his praise for his player:

“I had said he needed to strengthen his game. Ayyoub has worked hard, he has gained mass and now asserts himself in the air. He is starting to win duels that he would probably have lost last season.”

In nine Ligue 1 matches, eight of which as a starter, Bouaddi has established himself as a pillar of the Lille midfield. Tactical intelligence, vision of the game, and physical impact: everything seems to be in place to make him a complete player. Genesio acknowledges this without hesitation:

“He is a very intelligent player, who understands quickly and applies what we ask of him even better. It is normal that he takes on another dimension. He has a lot of talent, but also great maturity.”

A gem that is causing a stir in the European market

His performances have not gone unnoticed. Paris Saint-Germain, attracted by his profile, had long hoped to lure the young Dogue, following the operation with Lucas Chevalier. However, the situation is proving to be much more complex. The capital club, cautious in its recruitment policy for young talents under the guidance of Luis Campos, now sees European competition intensifying.

According to several sources, Juventus, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund are closely monitoring the player, as is Real Madrid, which was already interested last year. Each sees in Bouaddi a modern profile capable of bringing intensity and intelligence to the midfield.

For Lille, it is obviously out of the question to let go of their prodigy without a fight. Under contract until June 2027, Bouaddi could soon be offered an extension with a salary increase, a way to acknowledge his growing importance.

Genesio confirms: “He has acquired a higher dimension”

Bruno Genesio has stated unequivocally: Bouaddi is no longer a young player to be managed carefully.

“Yes, we no longer need to hold him back. When Paulo Fonseca brought him on at 16, we had to be cautious. Today, he is ready to play match after match and fulfill his role week after week.”

The coach concludes with a sense of pride:

“Even though he is still very young, Ayyoub has acquired a higher dimension. He is progressing in all areas and is already a very complete player at his age. He has an incredible level.”
