Young Moroccan international Ilias Boumassaoudi was the driving force behind FC Den Bosch’s emphatic victory over rivals TOP Oss in a thrilling and goal-filled regional derby. The forward, whose talent continues to shine, delivered a memorable performance with a hat-trick that played a key role in his team’s 5-2 win on Matchday 2 of the Eerste Divisie.

Boumassaoudi’s evening started early, in the fifth minute, when he nearly opened the scoring with a header, only to see his effort crash against the crossbar — a sign of the dominant display he was about to deliver throughout the match.

Just moments later, Ilias Boumassaoudi capitalized on his team’s efforts. Following a superb collective move orchestrated by his teammates, the young Moroccan was perfectly set up inside the box and finished with a precise strike to open the scoring in the 6th minute. This goal, which highlighted the team’s fluid attacking play, gave Den Bosch an early psychological edge and set the tone for a true offensive showcase against their local rivals.

Boumassaoudi’s performance reached a new level with his second goal, arguably the finest of the afternoon. With his team leading 3-1, he once again took matters into his own hands. Picking up the ball, he unleashed a stunning curled shot that perfectly eluded the goalkeeper and nestled into the net off the inside of the post, extending the lead to 4-1 and showcasing his exceptional technical ability.

The young Moroccan prodigy completed his masterpiece late in the match, securing a resounding hat-trick. After a teammate’s shot was parried by the goalkeeper, Ilias Boumassaoudi demonstrated remarkable positional awareness. He tracked the play perfectly, arriving at the right moment to slot the ball into the net. This fifth goal for Den Bosch ended all suspense and allowed Ilias to cap off an unforgettable evening, cementing his status as the hero of the day for both his team and its supporters.
