The Atlas Cubs have secured their spot in the final of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, matching the feat of their predecessors during the previous tournament.
After reaching the final of the 2023 edition in Algeria under coach Said Chiba, the Morocco U17 national team has once again made it to the final—this time under the guidance of Nabil Baha, who is aiming for the title.
However, qualification didn’t come easy in a tightly contested semifinal against a tough Ivorian side that put the young Moroccans under pressure on several occasions. Two dangerous opportunities were brilliantly denied by goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch.
On the Moroccan side, Baha’s squad struggled to break through a solid Ivorian defense, limiting their offensive effectiveness. Their most dangerous chances came from set pieces, with Belmokhtar and El Khalfioui coming close.
In the end, after a goalless draw (0-0), the match was decided by a penalty shootout. Hero of the match Chouaib Bellaarouch once again stepped up, saving three penalties and sending Morocco to the final, where they will face Mali—this time in front of their home crowd.
