In a big FIFA Club World Cup 2025 quarter-final clash, European Champions Paris Saint-Germain, fresh off a dominant 4-0 victory over Inter Miami, are set to face German giants FC Bayern Munich, who earned their spot by dispatching CR Flamengo with a 4-2 win. All eyes will be on Atlanta come July 5th as these titans collide.
Bayern’s stars Harry Kane, Manuel Neuer, and Leon Goretzka have expressed to FIFA.com their confidence heading into the monumental fixture against Hakimi and his PSG teammates, though they are under no illusion about the immense challenge that awaits them.
Harry Kane: “We have to believe (we can win the Club World Cup) for sure. We’re going up against a tough opponent in the next round no doubt, Champions League winners. We have to be ready for that but we feel like on our day we can beat anyone. It would be a dream come true to go all the way and win it but there’s games before that.”
Manuel Neuer: “We are looking forward to that game. We will try our best. They have good players in every position but we are prepared because we know them from this season and of course the Champions League final (5-0 against Inter Milan).”
Leon Goretzka: “They are the current Champions League holders. I am sure it will be a fiercely contested match. We’ve already beaten them once this season so we can go into this match quite confidently. But PSG have some momentum from their Champions League triumph and they won their Round of 16 confidently. It will be a great match.”
The Moroccan international, Achraf Hakimi, who scored two goals in 339 minutes played in the tournament, including a goal in the 2nd round against Inter Miami, could be on a collision course with his compatriot Adam Aznou. If Aznou takes to the field, it promises to be a truly special, personal battle within what is already shaping up to be an epic encounter.
