LOSC was eliminated from the French Cup by Dunkirk (1-1, 2-4 on penalties) on their home turf, following a dramatic scenario. Despite a late opening goal, the Dogues conceded an equalizer in the 90+6 minute before losing in the penalty shootout.

Dunkirk came out strong from the start. In the 12th minute, Yacine Bammou had an early opportunity, but Meunier made a crucial clearance. Lille then had a huge chance in the 23rd minute: taking advantage of a missed clearance, Jonathan David struck the crossbar before Sahraoui tried to finish it off, but Sangante saved his team.

Thanks to multiple saves by Jaouen, Dunkirk stayed in the game and seized their chance in the final moments. While Lille had led since the 85th minute, the visitors grabbed the equalizer in the 90+6 minute, forcing the match to go to a penalty shootout, where they made the difference.

Moroccan international Yacine Bammou, starting up front, delivered a valuable performance before being substituted in the 59th minute. His compatriot Ayyoub Bouaddi came on in the 90th minute, but couldn’t prevent LOSC’s elimination.

Dunkirk thus achieved a major upset and continues their journey in the French Cup, leaving Lille behind.
