It’s official: Azzedine Ounahi is no longer a player for Olympique de Marseille. After a stint marked by ups and downs in Ligue 1, the Moroccan international has signed with Spanish club Girona, a La Liga side.

Last season, Ounahi had already undergone a successful trial at Panathinaikos in Greece. The Greek club was eager to continue working with the player, but their financial means did not allow them to finalize his signing.

A final agreement has been reached between OM and Girona regarding his transfer. According to the latest reports, Marseille will receive €6 million for the deal and has negotiated a 20% sell-on clause should Girona transfer the player to another club.

At 25, Ounahi will have the opportunity to revive his career in La Liga, joining a team that continues to impress with its attacking play and ambitions. The Moroccan midfielder will wear the number 18 at Girona, symbolizing a fresh start in Spain.
