In a thrilling and eventful match, Ajman secured a 4-3 victory over Al Wahda on Matchday 14 of the Emirati league. Moroccan striker Walid Azarou played a key role in the win, alongside his compatriot Mohamed Souboul.
Trailing 2-1 at halftime, Ajman equalized through a penalty awarded after a VAR review, which revealed a handball by defender Ivković on a cross from Mohamed Souboul. Initially set to take the penalty, Azarou ultimately left the attempt to Milos Kosanovic, who converted (2-2, 55’). Nine minutes later, a similar situation occurred: another cross from Souboul found Azarou’s head, then struck Ivković’s hand, leading to a second penalty. Kosanovic converted again, making it 3-2 and completing his brace.
Azarou continued to shine in the 77th minute, launching a counterattack from midfield before delivering a perfect assist to Ali Madan, who netted Ajman’s fourth goal. Despite conceding a late goal, Ajman held on to claim all three points.
Alongside Walid Azarou and Mohamed Souboul (substituted after 72 minutes), Moroccan players Anas Mtitiche and Ismail Moumen also featured but were replaced early in the second half. Meanwhile, Abdelhamid Sabiri bid farewell to Ajman this week, completing a move to Saudi club Al Taawoun.
