AS FAR continues its incredible journey on the international stage. This Sunday, at the municipal stadium of Berrechid, the African champions secured their spot in the semifinals of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2026, overcoming the Asian champions, Wuhan Chegu Jiangda WFC (2-1 after extra time), in a match full of twists and turns.

Caught off guard in the 29th minute by a goal from Wang Shuang, the Moroccan team struggled for a long time against the solid Chinese defense. However, their perseverance paid off at the very end of the match when Hajar Said snatched the equalizer in the 89th minute, completely reviving the game and leading to a thrilling extra time. Fueled by a passionate crowd and growing physical superiority, the AS FAR players found their breakthrough thanks to Sanaa Mssoudy, who scored the qualification goal in the 104th minute.

This victory opens the doors to a prestigious encounter: a semifinal against European champions Arsenal, scheduled to take place in London in January 2026. In the other matchup, Gotham FC (United States) will challenge Corinthians (Brazil) for a spot in the final.

Winners of the CAF Women’s Champions League last month against ASEC Mimosas (2-1), the Military team confirms that they can compete with the best teams in the world. Their qualification symbolizes a significant new milestone for Moroccan women’s football, now firmly established among the great nations of the sport.
