The club announced, via its official website, some bad news regarding Achraf Bencharki. The Moroccan winger is suffering from a hamstring tear, confirmed after medical examinations conducted in recent days. According to the club’s doctor, the injury affects the back of the thigh and requires an appropriate treatment protocol.
A coordination has been immediately established with Walid Salah Eldin, Director of Football, as well as with the staff of the Moroccan national team engaged in the Arab Cup. The goal is to closely monitor the player’s condition and define the suitable treatment program. The club is also considering the possibility of bringing Bencharki back to Cairo so that he can continue his rehabilitation under the best conditions.
In a pre-match press conference, coach Tarik Sektioui confirmed that Bencharki would miss the first two matches of the tournament. He specified that the team is still awaiting additional examinations to determine the exact severity of the injury. Sektioui also reminded that this absence adds to that of Youssef Mehri, another key player in the squad, reducing the available options to start the competition.
Despite these setbacks, the technical staff remains focused on their opening match, awaiting the final diagnosis regarding the duration of Bencharki’s unavailability.
