One year after his arrival at Lens, Anass Zaroury could leave the Artois club. According to L’Équipe, several clubs are closely monitoring the situation of the Moroccan international, whose future remains uncertain.
Transferred from Burnley to Lens in the summer of 2023 for just over €5 million, Zaroury was among the standout signings of Lens’ transfer window. But despite some flashes of brilliance, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder reportedly has not fully met expectations, according to the French daily.
Under contract until 2028, the Moroccan international (4 caps) is attracting interest from several clubs, notably Coventry and Norwich in England, as well as Panathinaikos and Espanyol Barcelona. Racing Club de Lens, which is looking to reduce its wage bill, would not oppose a departure, especially since the Atlas Lion still retains an estimated value of €8 million.
In the meantime, Zaroury has joined his teammates for the training camp at St. George’s Park in England.
