After being sidelined for several months due to a serious injury, Amine Adli made his return to the pitch this Saturday in the highly anticipated clash between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, part of the 22nd round of the Bundesliga. The Moroccan international came on in the 85th minute and took part in a hard-fought match that ended in a goalless draw (0-0) at the BayArena.

Amine Adli did not hide his joy at being back in competition after such a long absence. “I was happy to return with the team and to be back on the BayArena pitch. I received a very warm welcome from the fans, and I was ready to try to help the team,” he said after the match.

Despite dominating possession, Leverkusen was unable to break down a well-organized Bayern defense. “We deserved more than a point. The team played a very good, solid match, and we are moving forward,” Adli analyzed.

Against the league leaders, Bayer Leverkusen delivered a strong performance but lacked efficiency in front of goal to secure a better result. “We simply need to convert our chances. We played a very complete, solid match. Bayern didn’t have many opportunities, and we controlled possession most of the time. Today, we were just unlucky—the ball didn’t go in,” the Moroccan winger lamented.

With this draw, Bayer remains second in the standings with 47 points, maintaining the gap with Bayern Munich, who lead with 55 points. Leverkusen will now need to string together victories to close the gap and stay in the title race. Adli’s return could prove to be a valuable asset for the rest of the season.
