Ahmed Kantari joins FC Nantes coaching staff
FC Nantes has officially announced the arrival of Ahmed Kantari, a 39-year-old former Moroccan international, as the assistant coach for the first team led by Antoine Kombouaré. Olivier Blondel, the new goalkeeping coach, also joins the Canaries’ technical staff. This announcement marks a significant step for the club as they resume training on Monday, December 30, with the aim of turning their season around in Ligue 1.
Kantari, who recently stepped down as head coach of Valenciennes in November, brings a wealth of experience gained both as a player and a coach. His appointment at FC Nantes comes at a challenging time, with the club currently sitting 14th in the league, just two points above the relegation zone. The Canaries hope that Kantari’s expertise, along with Blondel’s, will help secure their place in Ligue 1.
