Achraf Bencharki, the Moroccan international winger, expressed his great joy after joining the Egyptian giants Al Ahly, which he considers the “Club of the Century.” In an interview with the club’s official website, he revealed that he made this decision after serious reflection, emphasizing that he is “really happy to be part of this team with a rich history and remarkable achievements on African, Arab, and global levels.” Bencharki also explained that his choice to join Al Ahly was motivated by his desire to win major titles such as the CAF Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. “I chose to join Al Ahly because I am looking to win titles and participate in major tournaments,” he said.

When talking about the intense atmosphere of matches against Al Ahly, Bencharki shared a memorable experience. He admitted that he “once felt terrified” by the fervor of Al Ahly’s supporters, particularly during a match at the Borg El Arab stadium. “I still remember playing at the Borg El Arab stadium when the stands were filled with Al Ahly supporters cheering with incredible energy. It was an overwhelming atmosphere that honestly made me feel terrified,” he explained. He added that this experience left a lasting impression on him and made him realize the immense connection between the club and its supporters.

Bencharki also emphasized his thirst for trophies and his desire to contribute to the club’s success. “I joined the team because I want to win championships. I am a player who loves big challenges, and I know that Al Ahly enters every tournament with the goal of standing on the podium,” he clarified. He expressed his pride in joining a club with such an impressive record and highlighted the importance of the club’s collective ambition. “Al Ahly is always used to winning trophies, with the aim of winning championships every season. Every ambitious and passionate player would undoubtedly want to be part of this great story,” Bencharki added, stating that he is ready to give his best to honor the club’s legacy and its supporters.
