Younes Taha shone this Sunday during the spectacular victory of FC Twente against PSV Eindhoven (3-2) in the 7th round of the Eredivisie. Starting as an attacking midfielder, the Moroccan international opened the scoring and contributed to one of the standout performances of this matchday.
The Moroccan found the back of the net in the first half. After a shot was deflected in the box, the ball came back to him, and Taha seized the opportunity, finishing from close range to give Twente the lead. However, PSV quickly turned the situation around thanks to a brace from Guus Til scored within three minutes, allowing the visitors to head into halftime with the advantage.
Twente, however, did not give up. In a lively second half, John van den Brom’s men waited until the final minutes to turn the match around. Launched into space by Daan Rots, Wout Weghorst first equalized at 2-2 before Daouda Weidmann set off celebrations at De Grolsch Veste with a superb individual effort capped off by the winning goal.
This victory allows Twente to make a significant statement against the reigning champions of the Netherlands. PSV suffers its first defeat of the season in the Eredivisie and relinquishes the top spot in the standings. Twente climbs to fourth place with 16 points, tied with PSV and three points behind leaders AZ.
