Hakim Ziyech is getting closer to his long-awaited debut with Botafogo. The Moroccan international is included for the first time in the squad called up for the match this Saturday, September 19, against Mirassol.
His inclusion comes after the regularization of his administrative situation. On Friday, Ziyech’s name was registered in the Boletim Informativo Diário (BID) of the Brazilian Football Confederation, making him officially eligible to compete with Botafogo.
The Rio de Janeiro club had to expedite the procedures in recent days to finalize his registration. A document awaited from the Netherlands was delaying the process, forcing Botafogo to intervene directly to resolve the situation. Everything was ultimately settled in time for the Moroccan to join the squad.
It remains to be seen whether Tite will grant him his first minutes against Mirassol. A starting position seems premature, but a substitution during the match is being considered by the Brazilian press. After several weeks of waiting, Ziyech could finally embark on his adventure wearing the Botafogo jersey.
