Azzedine Ounahi did not hide his satisfaction after scoring his first goal of the season with Panathinaïkos. Starting on Sunday night against Panetolikos, the Moroccan international contributed to his team’s convincing victory (3-0) during the 4th round of the Greek Super League by netting the second goal of the match in the 39th minute.
After the match, the Atlas Lion explained that he wanted to quickly find the back of the net since his return to the Athenian club. “I am happy to have scored at home. I wanted to score quickly, and I succeeded,” Ounahi stated, also taking the time to thank the supporters present at the stadium: “The supporters were with us. I hope we can continue like this, with victories in the league.”
The Moroccan midfielder also spoke about the new look of Panathinaïkos, which has undergone significant changes during the offseason. “Almost the entire team has changed. We have players with quality and experience,” he emphasized, before insisting on the need to stay focused: “We must keep our desire and give our best in every match to go far. We are 100% focused on this goal.”
With this fourth victory in as many matches, Panathinaïkos has made a perfect start to the season and sits alone at the top of the standings with 12 points. For Ounahi, this goal also marks an important milestone in his new beginning in Athens, just weeks after his permanent return to the club.
