Tawfik Bentayeb has opened his account for Anderlecht this Friday evening. The Moroccan international found the back of the net against KV Mechelen, giving the Mauves the lead in this match counting for the 6th round of the Belgian championship.
Positioned at the forefront of the attack, Bentayeb took advantage of this opportunity to score his first goal since joining Anderlecht. This is an important achievement for the former Union Touarga striker, as he continues his adaptation to Belgian football.
The Moroccan joined the Brussels club during the last summer transfer window from Union Touarga. He signed on for four seasons, with the ambition to take a new step in his career and gradually establish himself in the Anderlecht squad.
This first goal could indeed serve as a trigger for Bentayeb, as Anderlecht is still seeking greater offensive efficiency at the start of the season. Before this 6th round, the Mauves had only scored three goals in their first five league matches.
