Soufiane Rahimi received a particularly warm welcome on Thursday during the match between Al-Ain and Al-Wasl, part of the 5th round of the United Arab Emirates championship. The Moroccan international was long applauded by the crowd at Hazza-Bin-Zayed Stadium upon the announcement of his name.
An emotional moment for the Moroccan forward, who is going through a particularly difficult time following the recent death of his father, Mohamed Rahimi. The supporters of Al-Ain wanted to show their support for one of the club’s iconic players.
Rahimi had received numerous messages of support in recent days, both from his club and his teammates, as well as from fans. During the previous match against Kalba, Al-Ain players also paid tribute to him by holding up his jersey.
This ovation against Al-Wasl once again illustrates the strong bond that connects Soufiane Rahimi to the Al-Ain fans, where the Moroccan has been playing since his arrival from Raja Casablanca in 2021.
