The Paris Saint-Germain kicked off their Champions League campaign perfectly by overwhelmingly defeating Slovan Bratislava (6-1) on Wednesday night at the Parc des Princes. Starting and captaining the team, Achraf Hakimi played 64 minutes before being substituted for Senny Mayulu, with the victory already secured for Paris.
PSG quickly took control of the match. Ousmane Dembélé scored twice in the 17th and 23rd minutes, before Ferran Torres added another goal in the 31st minute. The Spanish forward then completed his hat-trick in the 47th and 57th minutes. Suleiman Camara reduced the deficit for Slovan just a minute later, while Fabian Ruiz capped off the Parisian festival in the 87th minute.
Very active in his right flank, Hakimi regularly supported his team’s offensive efforts. The Moroccan international touched the ball 91 times and attempted two shots, one of which was on target. He also made three defensive interventions. Although he did not score or provide an assist, the full-back delivered a solid performance in a match that was largely dominated by the Parisians.
This early exit allowed Luis Enrique to manage his captain’s playing time after the fifth Parisian goal. Hakimi and PSG thus secured their first three points in this league phase and began their European journey with a demonstration in front of their home crowd.
