Yassine Bounou is officially among the ten goalkeepers nominated for the Yachine Trophy 2026, which honors the best goalkeeper of the season. This marks the fourth nomination for the Al-Hilal goalkeeper for this prestigious individual award.
The Moroccan international boasts a particularly solid record with 30 clean sheets in 58 matches played during the 2025-2026 season, conceding only 41 goals. Winner of the King Cup of Saudi Arabia, Bounou also contributed to the Lions of the Atlas’ triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Fifth in the Yachine Trophy in 2025 with 48 points, the Moroccan will aim to move closer to the top spots this time. His best ranking remains third place achieved in 2023, following his historic run with Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar and his victory in the Europa League with Sevilla FC.
Bounou will notably compete against Thibaut Courtois, Emiliano Martínez, David Raya, Unai Simón, Édouard Mendy, Gregor Kobel, Joan García, Matvey Safonov, and Vozinha. The name of the winner will be revealed on October 26 in London.
