Ayyoub Bouaddi could experience his first minutes in the Champions League wearing the Manchester City jersey on Tuesday. As the team prepares for their away match against FC Porto, Enzo Maresca has clearly indicated his intention to include the Moroccan international midfielder in his European rotation.
“We have seen Ayyoub Bouaddi, Ryan McAidoo, and Iliman Ndiaye. They have not yet played in the Champions League with us, but they need to start. On Tuesday, they will begin to get playing time in the competition,” the Italian coach stated in comments published by Manchester City.
Included in the squad of 22 players selected for the trip to Portugal, Bouaddi seems assured of another opportunity to showcase his skills. However, Maresca did not confirm his starting position, leaving open the possibility of him coming on during the match.
Having already appeared against Crystal Palace and in the victory against Coventry City (1-0), the 18-year-old Moroccan is gradually continuing his integration. Bouaddi is also familiar with the Champions League, having played it with Lille, but he could experience his first European match with the Citizens on Tuesday.
