Wael Mohya experienced a frustrating afternoon with Borussia Mönchengladbach, who lost at home to Elversberg (3-4) this Saturday during the second round of the Bundesliga. Starting in the offensive sector, the young Moroccan-German thought he had scored as early as the 15th minute.
The 17-year-old midfielder found the back of the net with a perfectly placed shot into the bottom corner. However, his goal was disallowed after video review due to an offside position of Hugo Bolin at the start of the play. Mohya was not himself in an irregular position.
Positioned behind Tim Kleindienst, the number 36 played for 69 minutes before being replaced by Robin Hack. At the time of his exit, Mönchengladbach was still leading 3-2 after having had a two-goal advantage thanks to Bolin’s brace and Joe Scally’s goal.
