Zakaria Aboukhlal did not participate in Torino’s victory against Fiorentina (2-1) this Saturday during the third round of Serie A. Called up by Ignazio Abate, the Moroccan international watched the entire match from the substitutes’ bench.
Fiorentina had taken the lead as early as the 47th minute thanks to Mateo Pellegrino. Torino then turned the match around in the last quarter of an hour, with goals from Rolando Mandragora in the 74th minute and Che Adams in the 82nd. This victory allows the Granata to secure their first win of the season in the league.
The Turin coach made his five substitutions without calling on Aboukhlal. Ardian Ismajli, Rafik Belghali, Nathan Patterson, Daniel Bragança, and Giovanni Simeone were the players chosen to come on during the match.
After having gained playing time against AC Milan and Sassuolo, and then against Monza in the Coppa Italia, the Atlas Lion remained unused for the first time this season in Serie A. Still in search of his first starting appearance, he will aim to return to the field during the match against AS Roma, scheduled for September 14.
