After the official announcement of his transfer to Hamburger SV, Zakaria El Ouahdi shared his first impressions in his new colors. Arriving from KRC Genk, the Moroccan international right-back will wear the number 7 with the German club.
“I am very happy about my transfer to HSV. It’s a great club in Germany, with a rich history,” El Ouahdi stated in a press release published on Tuesday by HSV.
The 24-year-old Moroccan also expressed his eagerness to experience the Volksparkstadion and its fans. “I can’t wait to play at Volkspark. From what I’ve learned, the stadium is always full. I want to excite the supporters with my style of play,” he continued, promising to always give his best for the club.
After three seasons at Genk, where he played 116 matches in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 13 assists, El Ouahdi is now set to discover the Bundesliga. This new challenge could see his dynamism and offensive contributions quickly win over Hamburg supporters.
