After scoring a hat trick in Eintracht Frankfurt’s draw against Union Berlin (3-3), Younes Ebnoutalib shared his satisfaction following the match. The 22-year-old forward, who scored in the 10th, 11th, and 67th minutes, regretted that his performance only earned his team one point.
“Three goals are always nice. It’s a shame that it only brought one point. Three points would have been even better,” he stated. Ebnoutalib also acknowledged that he did not expect to achieve a hat trick, while emphasizing his main goal: to help Eintracht.
This performance especially represents a significant mental breakthrough after suffering a knee ligament injury last January. “It feels good mentally and gives confidence. But we need to keep going and not rest on this,” explained the former Elversberg player, determined to confirm his form in the upcoming matches.
Ebnoutalib also wanted to retrieve the match ball to keep a memento of this evening. His hat trick allows him to enter the recent history of Frankfurt: no Eintracht player had achieved such a feat in the Bundesliga since Luka Jović scored five goals against Fortuna Düsseldorf in October 2018.
