PSV Eindhoven confirmed on Thursday the presence of Ismael Saibari at the Philips Stadion on Sunday, during the match against FC Groningen. Transferred this summer to Bayern Munich, the Moroccan international midfielder will return to Eindhoven to say goodbye to the supporters of his former club. PSV has also invited its fans to arrive early before the kick-off, scheduled for 2:30 PM.
Revealed on Wednesday evening by Eindhovens Dagblad, the organization of this tribute is now confirmed. Saibari is expected to take a victory lap in the stadium where he established himself as one of the key players for PSV in recent seasons.
Arriving in 2020 from KRC Genk, the Atlas Lion has played 142 official matches with the first team, scoring 42 goals and providing 29 assists. He has also contributed to the club’s achievements of three Dutch championship titles, two national cups, and three Supercups.
His transfer to Bayern, officially announced on July 1, marks a record sale for PSV. The deal is estimated at around 55 million euros, while Saibari has signed with the Bavarian club until June 2031. On Sunday, he will officially close his chapter in Eindhoven by connecting one last time with the fans at the Philips Stadion.
