The recruitment of Ismael Saibari by Bayern Munich is the result of long-term monitoring. Present alongside the Moroccan international during his official presentation, Max Eberl, a member of the executive board responsible for sports, detailed the qualities that convinced the Bavarian club to invest in the former PSV Eindhoven player.
The match played last January between PSV and Bayern in the Champions League particularly reinforced the Munich leaders’ decision. A scorer in that match, Saibari posed numerous problems for the German team. “With his physical impact, presence, speed, and versatility, he put us in difficulty. He has something special,” Eberl explained.
The Bavarian official specified that Bayern wanted to enhance its offensive flexibility by recruiting players capable of occupying multiple positions. Saibari is expected to provide new solutions for Vincent Kompany, as well as certain qualities that were sometimes lacking in the team last season. His profile quickly made him one of the club’s priorities.
Under contract with Bayern until June 2031, the Atlas Lion also took the opportunity during his presentation to reflect on his personal journey. Born with foot problems, he paid tribute to the many sacrifices made by his parents to ensure he could walk normally. A unique story that adds even more significance to his arrival at one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
