Back with the squad after his vacation following the World Cup, Noussair Mazraoui shared his first impressions of Manchester United’s summer preparation. The Moroccan international believes that the Red Devils have continued to progress under the leadership of Michael Carrick.
“We finished last season on a good momentum. Upon my return, I noticed that the team had taken another step forward,” the defender explained in an interview with the club’s official media. Mazraoui particularly appreciates the continuity of the work done by the Manchester staff as the league restart approaches.
The Atlas Lion also praised several young players from the academy. “Shea Lacey impressed me; he is doing a great job. The two Fletchers, Jack and Tyler, also left a strong impression on me,” he revealed. The Moroccan also mentioned JJ Gabriel: “He is only 15 years old. It is quite unusual to see such a young player playing with the first team.”
Mazraoui returned to competition on August 8 during the friendly match against Paris Saint-Germain. This first summer appearance allowed him to gradually regain his rhythm ahead of the new season, during which Manchester United hopes to confirm the progress observed in recent months.
