Yusuf Akhamrich played a key role in Leyton Orient’s qualification for the second round of the Carabao Cup. Starting on Saturday against Oxford United, the young Moroccan contributed to the O’s success (2-0) in their first official match of the 2026-2027 season.
Positioned in the attacking sector, Akhamrich played for 71 minutes before being replaced by Tony Springett. At the time of his substitution, the two teams were still tied (0-0).
Leyton Orient finally broke the deadlock late in the game. Demetri Mitchell opened the scoring in the 85th minute, before Idris El Mizouni doubled the lead three minutes later to seal the victory for the Londoners.
On loan from Tottenham to Leyton Orient for the season, Akhamrich begins this new adventure with a qualification and will now aim to gradually secure his place in the O’s starting eleven.
