We also want to keep him, so it’s not a topic at all.” This statement confirms the mutual desire of both the club and the Moroccan defender to continue their collaboration in the Eredivisie following last season’s promotion.
At just 19 years old, Baouf has established himself as one of Cambuur’s standout players since arriving from Anderlecht. Solid defensively, effective in duels, and comfortable in building play, the young Moroccan international has quickly attracted attention due to his consistent performances. In recent weeks, Johan Plat had already described him as a “phenomenal talent,” believing he possesses all the qualities to one day join a top-level club.
The coach even went further by indicating that the chances of seeing Baouf start as a starter on the opening day of the Eredivisie against Excelsior were “very high.” This is an additional sign of the confidence he places in the young Lion of the Atlas, who is expected to play a major role in Cambuur’s efforts to maintain their status this season.
