Hoalid Regragui unveiled, this Friday morning, the list of players selected for the two friendly matches that the Lions of the Atlas will play against Mozambique and Uganda, on November 14 and 18, 2025, at the Grand Stade de Tanger, starting at 8:00 PM.
This new list is marked by the return of Romain Saïss, who was absent from the last gatherings, as well as the call-up of Anass Salah-Eddine and the presence of Sofiane Diop, who has yet to play a single minute with the Moroccan national team.
The OGC Nice attacking midfielder had already been called up for the first time on November 9, 2023, during the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup against Tanzania, but did not enter the game. At that time, Hoalid Regragui justified his choice at a press conference:
“He is a player who can play in midfield, on the wings, or as a number 10. It’s good for him to join the group to get to know it before the AFCON. As for his presence at the Africa Cup, only God knows, but he deserves to be with us today.”
This time, Diop will have a new opportunity to shine in the Moroccan jersey. For his part, Anass Salah-Eddine, whose change of sporting nationality has recently been validated, could make his first appearance.
On the other hand, Achraf Hakimi will miss this gathering. Injured with PSG during the Champions League match against Bayern Munich, he will be unavailable for several weeks. The coach can, however, count on Noussair Mazraoui and Mohamed Chibi to occupy the right flank.
Among the other absentees are Bilal Nadir, Oussama El Azzouzi, Zakaria El Ouahdi, Zakaria Aboukhlal, and Marouane Sanadi.
With this list, Hoalid Regragui confirms his intention to prepare for the future and gradually integrate new profiles into the dynamics of the national team, in view of the AFCON 2025 organized in Morocco.
