This weekend, Neil El Aynaoui made his long-awaited debut with AS Roma under Gian Piero Gasperini in the match against Bologna. Coming on in the second half, the Moroccan midfielder quickly demonstrated his readiness and versatility, capable of playing both as a central midfielder and behind the forwards.
But it was his statement to the Italian site planetaroma.net regarding the Moroccan national team that drew particular attention:
“I have been in contact with the Moroccan national team coach, and I would be delighted to answer his call.”
This announcement confirms that El Aynaoui could take part in the next gathering of the Atlas Lions scheduled for September. At 24 years old, he is now positioning himself as one of the future faces of Hoalid Regragui, having previously represented the Moroccan U23s against Brazil under the guidance of Issame Charaï.
Regarding his Serie A debut, El Aynaoui added:
“It’s an incredible environment. My teammates had warned me, but it’s even better than I imagined. Gasperini asked me to play in attack, and I’m ready to adapt to any position.”
The young Moroccan international is thus continuing his adaptation in Italy while officially opening the door to the national team, sending a strong signal to the Atlas Lions and their supporters.
