Bayer Leverkusen continues to apply pressure on Bayern Munich after their 3-1 victory against Bochum on Friday night. Among the scorers in the match, Moroccan international Amine Adli scored his team’s third goal late in the game, sealing the success for Xabi Alonso’s men.

Dominating the game, the Leverkusen players struggled against a well-organized defense until Aleix Garcia opened the scoring with a beautiful strike in the 20th minute. Bochum quickly reacted thanks to a superb volley from Felix Passlack, who capitalized on a mistake by Granit Xhaka to equalize.

It wasn’t until the hour mark that Victor Boniface, starting for the first time since February, restored the lead with an opportunistic close-range goal. In the final minutes, Amine Adli, who came on for Patrik Schick, concluded a well-constructed play by Exequiel Palacios to score the insurance goal in the 87th minute.

With this victory, Leverkusen temporarily closed the gap to three points behind Bayern Munich. However, the Bavarians responded the following day by winning 3-2 against St. Pauli, extending their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to six points.

Leverkusen will now turn their attention to the DFB-Pokal, with a semi-final match against Arminia Bielefeld coming up on Tuesday. Amine Adli, buoyed by his goal, could play a key role in this upcoming challenge.
