The draw for the 2026 World Cup has placed Morocco in Group C, alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti. A challenging group where the Atlas Lions will face one of the most iconic nations in the history of world football.
Asked after the draw, Hoalid Regragui welcomed this challenge with clarity but also ambition:
“In this competition, we always end up against one of the giants. This time, it’s Brazil: it will be a big match for us. We must be humble and respect our opponent to get through this first round. After that, it will be another competition. We have ambitions, of course, with the World Cup we had in 2022, we are expected to perform, so we must respect our rank.”
The Moroccan coach thus reminds that Morocco no longer participates in a World Cup as a total outsider, but rather as a respected team capable of competing with the best. Against Brazil, as well as Scotland and Haiti, the Atlas Lions will need to confirm their progress and demonstrate that they now embrace their new status on the international stage.
With a solid squad and recent experience at the highest level, Morocco will approach this World Cup with determination, with a clear objective: to advance past the group stage and continue to write their story.
